Underground Rivers, Beaches and Mangroves

For the final leg of our trip with Colleen, we traveled to Sabang, Palawan.  We arrived on New Year's Eve at Daluyon Resort to enjoy some worldly wonders and some fun in the sun.  Upon arriving we got ready for the New Year's Eve reception.

Live music that almost put us to sleep.

He's obviously only pretending.

The next morning we are able to get a good look at the resort before heading out to see the Underground River.

Our cottage.  We were in the upstairs portion.

One of the resorts monitor lizards.

Another boat inside the Underground River.

The first person to discover the Underground River.

After the Underground River, we enjoyed the beach as much as possible.  On the 1st and 2nd a person drowned on our beach because of the undertow.  So, they closed the beach.

My friend I made on the beach.

We also toured the Mangroves.  This is a great conservation initiative.  All the tour guides are from the local village and have been trained and given further education opportunities.

Our guide showing us the male and female pods.

Our guide showing us local woodworm damage.

That concludes our trip with Colleen.  We were so happy that she came to spend her Christmas with us.  Can't wait for our next trip in Bali with her and some of our other friends from Germany in April!
